At the age of 19, I published my first book; a fantasy series of six called, 'The Fable of Mythrian', with Melrose books. Since I have been published, I’ve been working with schools in providing guidance to students with their writing and being more creative. I wish to extend this to all age groups. The three points I try to get across in my workshops are:

The three stages of building an idea: Imagination, Creation, Evaluation
Understanding the theories: the structure and development of writing
Freedom of the creative mind: to feel comfortable and inspired whenever you write

I initially began with a talk at my old school, Vale of Catmose College, in Oakham. This was aimed at 11 year olds and the response I had from both the students and teachers was extremely positive. I followed this with a workshop at King Edward VII School, in Melton Mowbray. One of these workshops involved my providing a talk to the entire six-form. I have also held a successful workshop at Mount Grace High School in Hinckley.

As I have become involved with schools around the Leicestershire/Rutland area, I have begun a course as a creative practitioner, a part of the Leicestershire find your talent and creative partnership mentoring scheme for 2009. I have also worked with Creative Braunstone and set up displays at events to showcase my work and encourage creativity in the area.

I have also been working with BORDERS books stores across the country in trying to encourage more young readers. We have been contacting schools and members of the public trying to encourage people of all ages, but more importantly younger readers, to help them with their writing and being creative on a whole. As well as these workshops, I have also had signings around several stores across the U.K.
